* Please note - Once you register, your application will be reviewed and considered for final approval. The main consideration we need to make is that the team has not already been filled or we still have not met the minimum requirement for skilled trades workers. You will be notified about final selection within a few days. If a deposit has been made, you will receive an immediate refund.

Jesus said that he came to serve, not be served. (Matthew 20:28). As His followers, we are called to do the same. We are the “hands and feet” of Jesus to those in our neighborhoods, community, country and world.  The call for Christ followers is to dedicate our lives to mission, anywhere and everywhere.  In 2008, Horizons will put its devotion to Jesus in Motion.  Beginning in our own back yard and reaching around the world.  Be part of the life changing mission of Jesus Christ – put your DEVOTION IN MOTION!!!

CHOOSE FROM ONE OF THREE FOCUSES

RELATED TO MISSIONS:

LOCAL: A local missions project last anywhere from a few hours to one day in length.  Not only are these powerful opportunities for those who have a real heart to serve, but they are also a great starter opportunity for those wanting to get their feet wet in missions but aren’t quite ready for an overnight missions experience.

NATIONAL: A National missions trip last between five to seven days and is conducted within the U.S. borders. These trips are designed for those who are ready to take the next big step in service, and are up to putting in a week of hard work that will impact a community.

GLOBAL: A Global mission trip is anywhere from 5 to 9 days in length and involve travel outside of the U.S.  These trips provide the opportunity for team members to immerse themselves for a longer period in a targeted community and culture.  A Global mission trip with Horizons may be just right for those ready to take on an advanced challenge.

GETTING SIGNED UP FOR A TRIP.

  1. Review the possible missions opportunities for 2008

2. Complete the trip registration form found on the back page of this catalog and return to Adult Missions at Horizons Community Church, 1503 157th Ave., Ham Lake MN. 55304.  A non-refundable deposit fee is due with your registration, should your trip require a deposit.  This fee is applied to the balance of your trip cost.  Everyone registering for a missions team, may be subject to an interview process for acceptance.

Please make note of final registration and deposit deadlines for your trip, listed with each trip description.  The deposit can be paid prior to the due date but becomes non-refundable after the designated deadline listed.  Your deposit goes toward securing your spot on the trip and is applied toward the balance of the trip cost.  Places on each trip are filled on a “first come, first serve” basis, so turn in your deposit and registration as soon a possible.

When your registration and deposit are submitted, you will receive ongoing updates about mandatory pre-trip training classes, and information concerning your next steps in preparation for your mission.
